The YMCA of Greater Rochester is pleased to announce the largest single capital donation in the organization’s 164-year history. Philanthropists and community leaders Peter and Susan Schottland donated $3.5 million to support the new Y branch, currently under construction at the corner of Clover Street and Jefferson Road in Pittsford. With this gift, the 140,000-square-foot branch will officially be named the Schottland Family Branch.

YMCA breaks ground on new branch in Pittsford
The YMCA of Greater Rochester officially broke ground for its newest branch — to be one of the largest in the country — at 11 a.m. Monday, May 21. The 140,000-square-foot facility is being constructed on 20 acres at the corner of Clover Street and Jefferson Road in Pittsford.
YMCA of Greater Rochester, UR Medicine Announce Exclusive Collaboration
Area residents will have greater access to UR Medicine wellness programs and clinical services at 17 YMCA of Greater Rochester locations, under terms of a collaboration agreement announced today.
The agreement expands upon, and formalizes, the pilot collaboration launched in 2014 between the YMCA and UR Medicine.
YMCA gets $500,000 boost from M&T
M&T Bank has pledged $500,000 to the YMCA of Greater Rochester to help build one of the nation’s biggest YMCA facilities. The gift is the largest corporate donation to the new, southeastern region YMCA and establishes M&T as the project’s lead corporate sponsor.

Preparation work for a new YMCA is set to begin next month after the Pittsford Planning Board this week unanimously approved the $40 million project to build one of the largest YMCA branches in the nation.

This will be the biggest YMCA in the region and the second largest in the country, for obvious reasons many families are thrilled.
“I think it’s fabulous and it’s a fantastic thing to be a little bit closer,” said Patricia Davis, a current member at the South East YMCA branch.

The YMCA of Greater Rochester is showing the community what their new Southeast facility will look like.
This preview party included family activities such as carnival games, a bounce house and face painting.
YMCA running fast toward $75 million goal
Driven by a strong showing of support so far, the YMCA of Greater Rochester is keeping its eyes on 2020 as it builds momentum for its Strengthening Communities Campaign across the area.
The campaign aims is to raise $75 million by 2020. To date, it has raised $54 million, or nearly 72 percent of the goal with three years to go.
